The UCLA Community Engagement (CE) Implementation team works on several ongoing engagement and outreach tasks to prioritize community engagement as a core mission of the David Geffen School of Medicine and UCLA Health.
Our projects include the following initiatives:
- Serve as a locus for community engagement activities at the David Geffen School of Medicine and UCLA Health
- Address projected workforce shortages through the Allied Healthcare Careers Program that introduces students to careers in the allied health professions
- Building meaningful internal/external partnerships to better collaborate on community engagement outreach efforts
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment and sevice learning efforts for the Care Harbor annual free clinic event
- Maintain and update an online database of academic and community partnered projects
- Provide support and resources to service learning projects and other CE related requests from DGSOM/UCLA Health
