Is it okay to share with my friends outside of work that I treated or came in contact with a high profile patient? No. Information (including the fact that an individual is a patient) you learn while working at the UCLA Health System should be kept confidential and should not be shared with anyone that does not need to know. This is true even if the patient’s information has been reported in the news by the patient, the patient’s representative or another source. Your obligation to protect patient privacy continues after you no longer work at UCLA Health System. | |
