Circle of CORE Ambassadors
The Circle of CORE is a kidney patient support and advocacy organization. We are comprised of current and former kidney patients ourselves, whether with chronic kidney disease, transplant, dialysis, or living donation, who are devoted to serve the kidney health community. As an extension of the UCLA CORE Kidney Program, we work in partnership to fight and eradicate kidney disease, and see to it that all patients get the care they need. We share the same values and vision of the UCLA CORE Kidney Program.
Ultimately, we aim to establish a community kidney center at UCLA to serve all from pre-diagnosis to health.
Bottom line: We are a platform to empower patients to become their own best advocates and to provide support to patients and their families

"I am excited because the Green Ribbon Campaign will shine the light on kidney disease and how many people are affected by it.
I experienced it first hand and had the blessing of having Dr Rastogi!
He is exceptional and I am very grateful that he gave me hope."

"My story is actually pretty simple. I always said if my dad ever needs a kidney I'd give him one. It only took two and a half years to do it. He had been on dialysis for that time and thinking he would be okay doing this I was wrong. I was slowly watching him deteriorate and it was on my mind daily. So in December last year my wife and I started to seriously talk about it and over a few months of discussion we decided to start researching the process."

"Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) runs in my father’s side of the family. His mother died in her 40’s from it, and he was on dialysis because of it during my elementary and middle school years. I myself was diagnosed with ADPKD at the age of 10 via ultrasound, and ever since then, I have been fascinated, intrigued, and admittedly slightly troubled by kidney health and kidney disease research."

"As a kidney recipient, the Green Ribbon Campaign is very dear to my heart. The Green Ribbon Campaign represents awareness, education, hope, inspiration, and motivation. As an ambassador for the green ribbon campaign, I would like to help spread awareness, educate, bring hope, inspire and motivate those who are affected by advance kidney disease."

"The most common question I get as a Non-Direct Donor is “Why?”. Why did I
decided to donate? What made you do this? Many people assume kidney disease must run in my family or I knew someone going through this that made me aware of donation. For me, kidney disease didn’t run in my family and isn’t something I knew much about. "
