ESRD | Dialysis Program

The ESRD | Dialysis program is one of the latest programs initiated at the Division of Medicine-Nephrology at UCLA.  End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) is a medical condition in which a person's kidneys cease functioning on a permanent basis leading to the need for a regular course of long-term dialysis or a kidney transplant to maintain life.

With this program we aim to dedicate our resources to patients diagnosed with ESRD. We hope to increase patient outcomes, increase the penetration of home dialysis modalities (i.e., peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis) and provide acute peritoneal dialysis services. We will collaborate with the Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Clinical Program to ensure proper and extensive clinical care. We also aim to educate people and spread awareness regarding the various treatment modalities and transplantation options for patients diagnosed with ESRD.  With your help, our dedicated staff and expert team hopes to reduce the mortality, improve patient outcomes and bring about a positive change in the lives of people with ESRD.
