Why I chose UCLA: I joined because of the people in the anesthesia department, their friendliness and their dedication to their craft.

Dr. Gary Chan is a skilled pianist and violinist. He has competed in several international piano competitions in addition to having performed in concerts with professional orchestras including the New West Symphony, T.O. Philharmonic, and the Brentwood-Westwood Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his accomplishments in music, Dr. Chan has also earned a black belt in Tang Soo Do! His academic interests include engineering and regional anesthesiology research.

Why I chose UCLA: The Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine fellowship at UCLA provides a unique opportunity to hone your regional skills with a largely nerve catheter-based program, practice in a variety of clinical settings, and feel supported by the tight-knit, friendly regional division. 

Dr. Gregory Sheehan’s professional interests include regional anesthesia, acute pain medicine, and medical education. He is an accomplished violinist and co-founded the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeon’s Symphony Orchestra. His other interests outside of medicine include biking, baking, and travel.

Why I chose UCLA: The faculty are stellar and the clinical experience is next to none! The location is great and on off days there are so many fun things to do!

Dr. Kelsey Wang is considered to be the true ambassador to the City of Angels. She was born, raised, and taught here in LA, and is set to finish both residency and fellowship training here soon! Her interests include art history, swimming, and cooking. In her free time, she likes to travel to distant countries, visit museums, and try out new restaurants.
