Geriatrics Inpatient Teaching Services

On behalf of the Division of Geriatrics in the Department of Medicine, we welcome you to the Geriatrics Inpatient Teaching Services at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center. This educational experience will provide you with an excellent opportunity to learn how to provide quality care to frail, hospitalized older adults and how to lead an interdisciplinary team in the provision of this care under the supervision of dedicated faculty.

P.S. Don't forget to ask for your copy of the latest edition of the popular handbook, Geriatrics At Your Fingertips, from your supervising faculty at the start of your rotation.

The Geriatrics Team Structure

The Geriatrics Team is comprised of two residents, Blue and Gold, and one or two attending physicians. Other interdisciplinary team members include the nursing staff, a geriatric pharmacist, clinical case manager, rehabilitation therapists, social worker, dietitian, and chaplain.
