Sanjog Pangarkar MD
Dr. Pangarkar joined our faculty in the Department of PM&R at the Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System in 2004. He came to Los Angeles in 2003 for fellowship training in Pain Management, which he completed at the ACGME accredited UCLA/VA PM&R Pain Fellowship Program. Prior to this time, Dr. Pangarkar had completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He has obtained board certification in both fields, and is also board certified in the subspecialty field of Pain Medicine. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine, where he was elected Student Senator, and received the prestigious Rockford Health Careers Scholarship.
He presently serves as a mentor for medical students at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and has an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at that institution. At present, and in conjunction with the palliative care service, he has helped to develop the course curriculum for Palliative Care Fellows rotating at the WLA VA Campus. He is also responsible for the day-to-day instruction of UCLA PM&R Pain Fellows, Geriatric fellows and Anesthesia residents rotating through the Interventional Pain Service. His interests include Pre and Post-operative Pain management, as well as cancer pain.
