Dr. Chen attended undergraduate school at UC Berkeley and received her graduate and medical degrees from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital Oakland and pediatric pulmonary fellowship at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. After graduating from fellowship, she joined Bay Area Pediatric Pulmonary Medical Group and subsequently the pediatric pulmonary group at Stanford University. During her fellowship, she conducted clinical research on the use of heated and humidified oxygen therapy in children with bronchiolitis. She was also involved in developing and maintaining protocols and guidelines for the use of heated, humidified high flow oxygen therapies on the pediatric wards, for management of tracheostomy tubes, and management of cystic fibrosis patients with low and poor weight gain. Her interests and experiences are in the evaluation of complex airways using flexible laryngoscopy and bronchoscopy. She recently joined the Division of Pulmonology at UCLA in September 2016.
