Medical Benefits: The UCLA Medical Center provides you and your family with medical, dental, and vision insurance at no cost to you. In addition, life and long-term disability insurance is provided to UCLA House Staff Residents at no cost. 

Vacation: 4 weeks (28 days) per year.

Housing Stipend: Residents are provided $1000 per month, paid as wages and subject to withholdings (ie taxes). 

Meals: The Ophthalmology Residency Office provides Housestaff with $3,000 per year to use towards meals in cafeterias at UCLA and Santa Monica. Meals are also provided at Harbor Medical Center and Olive-View Medical Center. Residents at the WLAVA may order up to $25 per day in food from UCLA Uber Eats account. Dinners and lunches are provided at all educational events. 

Equipment: Residents are provided with a laptop computer, smart phone, lenses, Wills Eye Manual (print and ebook), BCSC book series (print and ebook), scleral depressor, pen and blue lights, and occluder. 

Education Fund: Residents are allotted $1000 per year to use on University approved educational expenses.

UCLA Recreation: UCLA Recreation memberships are an exceptional value! For approximately $17 per month you have access to the following: John Wooden Center (including the new Strength and Conditioning Zone), Sunset Canyon Recreation Center, Student Activities Center, UCLA Marina Aquatic Center, 24 Tennis Courts, Open Recreation Activities, Recreation Playing Fields, Drake Track Stadium, Outdoor Adventure Center, Rock Wall, 4 Campus Pools, Sycamore Golf Practice Area, FIT PASS (to all drop-in fitness classes).
