Dr. George Mitchell was born and raised in New York City, and attended The City College of New York before receiving his MD degree from New York University School of Medicine. Following graduation from medical school he spent the next seven years at UCLA Center for Health Sciences as intern, resident, chief resident, and fellow in cardiology. After completion of cardiology training he was Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and was Assistant Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. He has been in the private practice of cardiology in Ventura, California since 1991 during which time he has served terms as Chairman of the Department of Medicine, CCU Director and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. He joined UCLA Health in 2016.
