Because SMH is a community hospital, there are some services that do not have housestaff or fellows (although this is changing quickly). It is critical to contact consultants early during the hospital course, rather than waiting until the consultant is needed urgently.
If you cannot determine who is On-Call for a consult service, the page operator or the emergency department may have a list.
