About Our Team

Kimberly Uehisa

Under the guidance of the Women's Cardiovascular Center, Kimberly's coordinated pilot studies and research projects focused on Heart Health and Well being, offering tips and text messaging to assist individuals, and promote healthy living. Several studies have concluded, and we will post results soon.  

Kimberly Uehisa, from Honolulu, Hawaii, graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics with a minor in Global Health. Kimberly’s research interests lie at the intersection of cardiac health and preventative health. Inspired by her experience on medical mission trips to Guatemala and Cambodia, providing free clinical care and teaching CPR and first aid in rural areas, she aspires to provide preventative healthcare to people living in under-served communities with her insights working in emergency medicine. She is an Emergency Department scribe at St. Francis Medical Center and hopes to use her EMT certification working as an EMT in the near future. She currently works as a research coordinator for the Division of Cardiac Surgery at UCLA. She has been working with the Women’s Cardiovascular Center since 2017. She received the UCLA-Barbra Streisand Research Fellowship.
