CORE About Us

The Center for Organizational Readiness and Education (formerly known as BRITE Training) is administered in partnership with the UCLA Hospital System and the FPG senior leadership. The main objective of The Center for Organizational Readiness and Education (CORE) is to provide UCLA Health employees with an efficient means for receiving the highest-quality training curriculum, consultative services, job training and tools to support staff development and readiness.

Sherry Dodge
Learning and Development Manager

Sherry began her career at UCLA in 2004. Prior to becoming Learning and Development Manager, she was a Senior Organizational Development Consultant with CORE for seven years. She has also served as Director of Patient Experience at UCLA Health, Adjunct Faculty at Santa Monica College, and Director of Career Services at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. Sherry has a Master’s degree in education and a Bachelor’s degree in communication studies from UCLA.

Francesca Baldassano
Organizational Development Manager

Francesca joined UCLA Health in 2016 and has served as the Training Manager for the Patient Communication Center, Ambulatory Training Manager for ISS Informatics Training, and a Sr. Organizational Development Consultant with the Center for Organizational Readiness and Education (CORE). Francesca holds a Master’s degree in intercultural relations from the University of the Pacific and a Bachelor’s degree in theatre from the University of Southern California.

Nickle Van Wormer
Senior Learning and Development Specialist

Nickle started his training career in the United States Air Force. He has also spent eight years as a Trainer and Instructional Designer for Wegmans Food Markets. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2017, he has worked for Sky Zone Franchise Group as Manager of Learning and Organizational Development, and for USC as a Sr. Organizational Development Specialist. Nickle holds a Master’s degree in human resource development from RIT.

Megan Eigenbrod
Senior Organizational Development Consultant

Megan is dedicated to helping UCLA staff, leaders, and teams achieve optimal organizational health through training, coaching, and systems analysis. Prior to joining UCLA Health in 2021, Megan began her career as a Bruin with Campus Human Resources in the Learning & Organizational Development department in 2015. In this role, she created and managed a highly coveted leadership program designed to retain and advance top-performing administrative staff across the University and Health System. Megan holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rollins College and a Master’s degree in counseling for California State University, Northridge.

Chava Caiyem
Learning and Development Specialist

Chava has been with UCLA Health since 2017. Her areas of expertise include professional development, leadership/communication skills training, facilitation, and design. Chava is focused on helping employees look at their roles through the perspective of those we serve. She provides learners with practical tools that enable them to better manage the impact their behaviors have on patients, each other and the organization.

Tony Dixon
Senior Organizational Development Consultant

Tony joined UCLA Health in 2022 and has been involved with developing people and organizations for 20 years serving in various roles spanning multiple industries. Prior to UCLA Health, Tony served as the Senior Manager of Learning and Organizational Development with Children’s Institute. He specializes in leadership development with experience in corporate learning and development, employee engagement, and organizational development. Tony holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership, a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, a Bachelor of Business Administration, and a Senior Professional of HR certification. Outside of work, he teaches graduate leadership courses at National University. 

Jay Gomez
Learning and Development Specialist

Prior to joining CORE as one of our Learning and Development Specialists, Jay spent three years in the Patient Communication Center training new hires on such subjects as technical skills on CareConnect, effective communication through the phone, and CICARE. He also worked in the ISS Training Department where he trained physicians and clinical/non-clinical staff on EPIC. He has a Bachelor’s degree in communications from California State University, Fullerton.

Argelia Monroy
Learning and Development Operations Specialist

Argelia has extensive experience in the administration of adult education programs. She joined UCLA in 2005 and has been with CORE since 2008. Previously, Argelia was a Manager for the Teacher Education Program (M.Ed.) at UCLA’s Graduate School of Education & Information Studies, as well as Residency Program Coordinator for the Department of Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine.

Jan Ferrer
Learning and Development Analyst

Jan has been with UCLA Health since 2017. Prior to joining CORE, Jan worked in Perioperative Services coordinating daily administrative operations. He has also worked in Information Services & Solutions (ISS) as a key member of the myChart team. Jan’s diverse background also includes experience as a photojournalist, production manager, multimedia editor as well as an EMT. Jan holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from San Francisco State University.
