Dr. Jacob K. Quinton is a fellow in the UCLA Department of General Internal Medicine and Health Services Research and UCLA National Clinician Scholar. He is also a primary care physician who practices in Santa Monica and is board certified in internal medicine.
Dr. Quinton is interested in health reform and innovations in care delivery models. His work focuses on the improvement in identification, risk stratification, and program design and delivery for high-risk patients in Medicaid. Prior work has focused on care coordination within the New Orleans' safety net population. He serves on several national committees including the American College of Physicians Council of Residents and Fellows, which he chairs.
Dr. Quinton received his medical degree from Louisiana State University - New Orleans, his public health degree from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and completed his internal medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital as part of the Yale Primary Care program. Prior to medical training he was a high school science teacher in New Orleans' East and Upper Ninth Ward.
