Saba Al-Hashimi, MD

Dr. Al-Hashimi received his undergraduate training in Biologic Science at the University of California, Irvine where he graduated with honors. He went to medical school at the Medical College of Virginia, finishing at the top of his class and being elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.

During his ophthalmology residency at the Boston University Medical Center, his interest in cornea and refractive surgery grew. Dr. Al-Hashimi currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology in the Cornea Division. His activities include laser refractive surgery (LASIK and PRK), femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery (FLACS), corneal transplantation (including PKP, DALK, DSAEK and DMEK), and the surgical management of a variety of ocular surface diseases.

His research interests include keratoconus and dry eye. Dr. Al-Hashimi performs corneal crosslinking and he helped launch a dry eye clinic that specializes in the latest diagnostic and treatment modalities.
