Dr. Cobos is a physician scientist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Division of Neuropathology, at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and the Ronald Reagan Medical Center. She received her MD in 1996 and PhD in 2000 from the University of Murcia, Spain, and post-doctoral training in Developmental Neurobiology at the University of California, San Francisco (2001-2007). She then pursued a clinical residency and fellowship in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School (2011-2015). Dr. Cobos has received numerous awards including a NARSAD Young Investigator Award (Brain & Behavior Research Foundation; 2003-2005), NAAR Postdoctoral Fellowship (Autism Speaks; 2004-2006), and Ramon y Cajal Research Investigator Award (Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation; 2009-2010). Dr. Cobos’s laboratory focuses in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
