The UCLA Pediatric Residency Program is committed to training pediatricians who are advocates for children and their families. In addition to the opportunity to participate in the legislative advocacy block during the primary care/public health track, residents are also invited to join the pediatric advocacy council.
Established in 2019, the UCLA Pediatrics Advocacy Council (UCLA PAC) is a coalition of pediatric residents passionate about advocacy and children’s health issues.
This year, the PAC members are subdivided into five “advocacy firms” and paired with two faculty mentors with various levels of expertise in advocacy. Each firm is tasked with organizing 1-2 noon conference lectures and an additional advocacy event per year.
