The CHD-BioCore Workflow to Integrate CHD Clinical Care and Research
The CHD-BioCore infrastructure is organized to synergize expertise from collaborative team with combined clinical and research expertise. Specifically, the BioCore workflow is tailored to allow seamless interactions with multi-omics platforms, where WES and whole transcriptome profiles can be accomplished and proteomics or metabolomics can be implemented in future. The discoveries made through systems studies of CHD sample will be validated and mechanistically interrogated in appropriate model organisms. Model systems for CHD gene discovery may include:
- Cultured cells, including human iPSCs.
- Zebrafish models combined with genome editing tools via CRISPR/Cas 9 system.
- Target-specific genetically engineered mouse models.
