Mihae Kim joined the Division of Geriatrics as a Nurse Practitioner for the UCLA Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Program in May, 2014. She graduated from University of California Los Angeles with a Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. She worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of specialties in inpatient settings, including Cardiothoracic Surgery, Geriatric intermediate care, and Intensive care.
Mihae has received numerous certifications (Adult Gertontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified, Public Health Nurse, Critical Care Registered Nurse, Cardiac Surgery Certification, and Cardiac Medicine Certification) and scholarships (UCLA Staff Assembly Scholarship and Korean Nurses Association of Southern California) from her clinical and academic settings. Prior to joining the UCLA Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Program, Mihae worked as a lead Nurse Practitioner at UCLA Hypertension Program, involved in various hypertension and kidney disease researches as a Sub-Investigator, and served geriatric populations with refractory hypertension and advanced chronic kidney disease while working for the Division of Nephrology, UCLA Geffen School of Medicine. Currently Mihae is serving as a board member for California Association for Nurse Practitioners since 2012. Mihae’s special interest is to improve quality of care for older adults and to provide community based health promotion and disease prevention for diverse geriatric populations.
