Dr. Samuel Ahn (Class of 2020) with colleagues at Instituto Nacional de Neurologia y Neurocirugia in Mexico City

We have relationships with health institutions in Mexico City, Thailand, Uganda, Zambia, and London, where neurology residents may rotate in the PGY3 and/or PGY4 year (pending pandemic restrictions). Our global health track includes academic advising and development of a global health research project. Each year Global Health track participants present their experience at our Annual Program Retreat at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center. Participants in our Global Health track have received extramural funding for research and have been recognized with the American Neurological Association’s International Outreach Travel Scholarship!

Another facet of the Global Health Track is our formal exchange relationship with the Mexican National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in Mexico City (Instituto Nacional de Neurologia y Neurocirugia). We sponsor the travel and lodgings for our residents and our visitors from the INNN.
