Dr. Nicholas Tangchaivang grew up in Hacienda Heights, California and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at UCLA. In an effort to explore life outside of Southern California, he went on to Dartmouth Medical School where he earned his MD. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at UCLA and was a member of the Primary Care – Internal Medicine track. As a member of this track, he received additional exposure to fields including Dermatology, Sports Medicine, Podiatry, East-West Medicine, Women’s Health, and Advanced Care Planning.
Dr. Tangchaivang enjoys building strong therapeutic relationships with his patients and strives to optimize his patients’ health through a collaborative approach. His practice includes but is not limited to Preventive Healthcare, Women’s Health and Family Planning, management of chronic diseases such as Hypertension, Diabetes, COPD, CHF, Hyperlipidemia, and Primary Care of patients with solid organ transplants. His special interests include decreasing hospitalizations through advanced primary and preventive healthcare and hospital medicine.
Outside the office, Dr. Tangchaivang enjoys spending time with his family, traveling the world to explore various cultures and cuisines, searching for the next hole-in-the-wall serving delicious bites, basketball, and finding great travel deals. He is excited to join UCLA Health and looks forward to providing excellent healthcare to all members of the community.
