UCLA Health Clinical Nurses are invited to submit an application for the 2019 Anna Gawlinski Research and EBP Scholarship to attend the 18th Annual Research and Evidence-Based Practice Conference to be held September 20, 2019 at UCLA's Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center.

Description

Throughout her expansive career, Dr. Anna Gawlinski has had a far-reaching influence on nursing practice nationally and internationally. She has helped to improve patient outcomes throughout the UCLA health system by successfully creating an infrastructure to support and sustain evidence-based practice and hospital-based nursing research.

The Anna Gawlinski Research and EBP Scholarship recognizes clinical nurses who demonstrate an interest in research and evidence-based practice.

The scholarships provide clinical nurses at UCLA Health with the opportunity to attend the entire conference free. Recipients will use the knowledge and skills gained by attending conference to support their daily clinical practice and clinical inquiry projects on their respective units.

Purpose

The purpose of the scholarship is to support a clinical nurse's attendance at the UCLA Annual Research and Evidence-Based Practice Conference.

Note that a letter of support from your unit leadership is required to complete the application. Winners will be notified in August.  

Please note the following selection criteria: 

  • Recipients must be current Clinical Nurses at UCLA Health
  • Recipients must attend the UCLA Research and EBP Conference for which they receive the award
  • Recipients must work with UD/CNS/Educator to advance research and EBP on the unit 
  • Recipients must be in good standing in their clinical practice
  • Recipients must bring conference information back to the unit staff
