Target Audience All UCLA healthcare providers (RN, CP, MD, RCP and Social work) who care for children and their families during end of life care
Description This course provides four education modules for the UCLA healthcare provider interested in learning how to communicate compassionately and effectively with family members of all ages during end of life care.

To receive your continuing education credit you must complete all of the steps identified in the Directions for E-learning CEs.  The minimum passing score for each module is 100%.  

Contact Hours Board of Registered Nursing continuing education credits are awarded to UCLA staff (only) for the completion of each module.  The BRN certificate is processed and emailed to the participants monthly.  If processing is needed sooner please contact the Department of Nursing Practice, Education and Research.
Neonatal Palliative Care Module I Moral Imperatives in Perinatal Palliative Care - Katherine Brown-Saltzman, MA, RN, Co-director UCLA Health Ethics Center

Neonatal Palliative Care odule II In the Last Hours...How We Can Help the Family at End of Life - Gina Kornfeind, MSW, MS, Support and Bereavement Coordinator Children's Pain and Comfort Care Program
Objectives: 
  • Apply self-care techniques during and following the end of life process.
  • Understand the value in participating in the end of life debriefings.  
  • Utilize and provide available resources for staff, patient and family members at the end of life.
