Each year during National Nurses Week (May 6-12), we want to recognize the immeasurable contributions that our nurses make every day as they care for others. Our goal is to support the wellbeing of our nursing staff so that as they give to others they are also routinely giving back to themselves. "You cannot continue to pour from a vessel without refilling it." The ANA's 2017 National Nurses Week theme "Nursing: The Balance of Mind, Body and Spirit" aligns perfectly with UCLA Health's desire to support nurses in their pursuit of wellness, self-care and work-life balance. In our effort to both support nursing wellness and show our gratitude to or nursing staff, we have designed a week filled with self-care focused speakers, classes, and events. During Nurses Week, nurses across the UCLA Health will enjoy massages, Urban Zen treatments, Yoga, Zumba, Mindful Meditation, Tea for the Soul and PAC visits to the units, Night Shift Pizza party, Blessings of the Hands, Nursing Awards and more.
You owe it yourself to participate in your Nurses Week - Because Caring Begins with U
