Rehabilitation Unit

An 11-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation unit open 24 hours/ per day, 7 days a week. The patient population is provided medical acute inpatient rehabilitation (primarily neurologic in nature) using a comprehensive interdisciplinary team approach from compassionate and dedicated healthcare staff. The major diagnoses include: stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury as a result of traumatic or surgical procedures, major multiple trauma, and other neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, and Guillain Barre Syndrome. In addition, patients with organ transplants with neurologic complications are also accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Critical Care Transport Teams

This highly respected team within the UCLA Health System, provides a unique 24/7 service that includes critical care nurses and EMTs. The Transport Program provides BLS and Critical Care Transport to all patient populations when requested by inpatient care areas, the emergency department(s), and outpatient clinic and procedural areas. In addition, the program has a pediatric/neonatal transport critical care team that retrieves or transfers PICU and NICU level babies and children to/from RRUCLA and SMUCLA to outside facilities across Southern California.

Nursing Float/Resource Team

The flexible and skilled team members provide nursing care across all patient specialties, as requested by nursing units. The float and resource opportunity provides nurses with variation and new work environments while providing nursing units with competent and trained UCLA staff. Nurses can work at RRUCLA or SMUCLA in areas such as Critical Care, Med/Surg, Pediatrics, Emergency, OR/PACU, and Outpatient Areas.

Clinical Systems Team (CST)

The Clinical Systems Team (CST) is comprised of an interdisciplinary nursing team, which was established approximately 10 years ago when UCLA began the implementation of the nursing electronic documentation. Since that time, the CST has progressively grown in size and expertise. The objective of the CST is to serve as a liaison between the clinical staff and the technology staff. The CST also serves to implement systems and processes that support the clinicians to provide safe, efficient, and high quality patient care. The scope of functions includes supporting the selection and purchasing process, testing, implementation, configuration, training, post-live support, report development, documentation development, and ongoing support. Each project has a team assigned to manage the key functions required for success.
