The mission of the 4 North Unit Practice Council is to utilize the unique strengths of our interdisciplinary team, to deliver evidence-based interventions towards the improvement of staff and patient satisfaction, and to improve patient quality outcomes.
Recent Accomplishments and Announcements
Implementation of white board decals in each patient room to enhance interdisciplinary communication and to involve the patient in shared-decision making regarding hospitalization goals.
Launch of 4 North UPC's first goal-setting retreat to create unit vision, guide quarterly/yearly goals, and induct members for the new fiscal year.
Creation and roll out of "Quiet Hour" in the evening from 1830 to 1930. The goal of "Quiet Hour" is to increase patient safety, decrease safety events that happen at change of shift, reduce stress in staff during this busy hour, facilitate better hand off report and completion of work.
Continued support and sustainment of Proactive Toileting implementation on the unit to promote scheduled toileting for patients who are at high risk of falling.
