Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division Chief of Family Planning and Medical Director of the UCLA OBGYN Clinic at West Medical Building. Dr. Chen completed her medical degree at Boston University in the Combined BA/MD/MPH program, residency in obstetrics and gynecology and the Complex Family Planning Fellowship at the Boston University Boston Medical Center where she also completed the NIH K30 training program in clinical research. Additionally, she completed the Medical Education Fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Chen’s research portfolio includes nationally funded projects in maternal quality of care, reproductive health and the environment, contraception, and abortion care. She has published in peer reviewed journals, authored book chapters, and partnered with community organizations to promote family planning access. Dr. Chen is passionate about creating opportunities for patients, families, communities, medical trainees, and clinical staff, as well as forging new pathways to a more robust health system by prioritizing Family Planning and Public Health measures.
