Her surgical expertise also includes sentinel lymph node mapping, vulvar, cervical and endometrial cancer surgeries. In addition to being an accomplished surgeon she is a scientist performing leading edge research aimed at advancing therapies for women impacted by cancers. Dr. Memarzadeh treats her patients as family members and is determined to improve lives of women with cancer through implementing innovative surgical and research approaches.

Prior to beginning residency, she earned her Masters Degree in Journalism from Columbia University. She has particular interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and has surgical expertise in complex laparoscopy including laparoscopic myomectomy. She is also interested in the surgical management of female- to- male transgender patients. She has published book chapters on the management of fibroids and abnormal uterine bleeding, and sits on the board of the UCLA Fibroid Treatment Program and the UCLA Gender Health Program. Her research has been focused on the surgical management of fibroids and development of residency medical education curriculum.
