Bio
Prior to joining UCLA, Dr. Metushi served as technical director for LabCorp with focus in in endocrinology. Dr. Metushi finished his BS in Chemistry from York University (Toronto, Canada) specializing in analytical chemistry. Ph.D in Pharmacology at the University of Toronto where he studied biomarker development for adverse drug reactions (ADRs). He did a post doc at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology where he worked on the development of immunoassays used to prescreen for drugs that could have an HLA-linked ADR. Dr. Metushi graduated from the Clinical Chemistry fellowship program at UC San Diego and is currently assistant professor and assistant section chief of Clinical Chemistry at the UCLA Health System. Dr. Metushi provides leadership in clinical operations for clinical chemistry and clinical toxicology/TDM across our hospital sites at Ronald Regan, Santa Monica Hospital and the Bruins University Reference Laboratory.
