Paul Chung is a professor of pediatrics and Chief of General Pediatrics at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and Mattel Children's Hospital, a professor of health policy & management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, and a senior scientist at RAND. He is also director of the Health Services Research (HSR) Program of the UCLA Children's Discovery & Innovation (CDI) Institute, associate director of the UCLA National Clinician Scholars Program at UCLA, chair of the Pediatric Policy Council (a federal child health policy consortium based in Washington DC), and associate editor of Academic Pediatrics. He is the incoming President-Elect of the Academic Pediatric Association (May 2018).
His personal research interests include primary care redesign for medically and socially complex children, early childhood development, child and adolescent health behaviors, educational environments, juvenile justice, child poverty and adversity, and child health policy, and he has received grants from funders including NIH, CDC, HRSA, RWJF, and the Lucile Packard Foundation.
