Peter received his Master of Social Work degree from New York University's Silver School of Social Work in New York City. He worked as a clinical social worker at Motion Picture & Television Fund prior to becoming a member of the staff at Behavioral Health Associates. Peter practices individual, couples, and group therapy with adults of all ages, with a specialization working with older adults; his interest in the field of geriatrics began during an internship at a skilled nursing facility in Brooklyn, NY.
Peter is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the American Psychological Association. He earned a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Psychoanalytic Center of California in 2014 and completed EMDR Basic Training Part 1 through the EMDR Institute in 2016. Most recently, he has completed the trainings “The Essentials of CBT” and “CBT for Depression” through the Beck Institute, founded by Aaron Beck, often referred to as “the father of cognitive therapy.” And he has been a student in the Extension Program at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis for the last 2 years. Peter’s approach to psychotherapy combines several modalities, including CBT, existential psychotherapy, and brief psychodynamic therapy.
Peter also holds a Master of Arts in American and British Literature from New York University. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
