Dr. Guimera received her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine. She completed her training in pediatrics at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital and served as a Pediatric Hospitalist for three years at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center. She is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She is a board certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been involved in teaching nurses, medical students, and residents and she serves as a mentor for medical students at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. In addition to studying medicine, Dr. Li performed research on the hormone causes of obesity in the lab of Drs. Michael Brown and Joseph Goldstein, joint recipients of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1985. After graduating with both MD and PhD degrees, Dr. Li moved to Chicago where he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
