About

Dr. Julia Veen is a primary care physician who practices in San Luis Obispo. She is double board certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine. She predominantly focuses on providing care to adult and geriatric populations. Due to her osteopathic training, she enjoys a holistic approach when assessing each patient and believes this allows her to better collaborate on healthcare goals. She cherishes building relationships with her patients, which enables her to be at their side as they advance through life. Her clinical interests include women’s health, osteopathic manipulative medicine and treatment (OMM/OMT), adult preventative health care, integrative medical discussions, diabetes, hypertension, and minor procedures.

Dr. Veen graduated with a degree in Neuroscience B.S. from UCLA. Following college, she obtained her medical degree and graduated in the top 10 percent of her class from Western University of the Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. She completed a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Osteopathic Medicine. This provided additional osteopathic training and allowed her to teach university curriculum to medical students and physicians. During that time, she also served as Chief Fellow. Following fellowship, she completed her Family Medicine residency at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, CA, where she also served as Chief Resident. She received certification in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona and distinction in Advanced Osteopathic Training during her residency.

Dr. Veen is a true California native. She is from Southern California and trained nearby in Santa Maria and has thoroughly enjoyed serving the community. If she is not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Veen spending her free time with family and friends, her cat, exploring local sites, looking forward to holiday decorating, or planning upcoming travel adventures.
