News - COPD Program at UCLA

The UCLA Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Program provides cutting edge diagnosis and treatments, and supports a staff of renowned physicians, surgeons and researchers. Demonstrating continued excellence in the field of COPD, the UCLA Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Program along with its varied Centers of Excellence, is often the subject of stories in newspapers, magazines, and journals.

We are a nationally-recognized referral center, and have been consistently rated one of the top centers both for lung care, and COPD care specifically, as ranked by US News and World Report. The UCLA COPD Program works with primary care and other referring providers to coordinate expedient visits and to ensure strong continuity and coordination of care.

The Department also frequently issues news releases to keep the community informed on the latest developments in COPD, the treatments available at UCLA, and various milestones within the Department. Alpha-1 Education Day – February 29, 2020 - The Alpha-1 National Education Day Series provides access to current medical information and resources for Alphas and their families and are held in a variety of regions in the US. All Education Days are free for patients and attendees.
