Sponsored by the American College of Radiology (ACR) Commission on Quality and Safety, the award provides the opportunity for one radiology resident or fellow to obtain direct exposure to the functions of the Department of Quality and Safety.
The Department of Quality and Safety manages programs that accredit facilities in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, PET, radiation oncology and ultrasound. It is also responsible for the ACR Appropriateness Criteria®, Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards, BI-RADS®, RADPEERTM, radiation safety, quality improvement, Pay for Performance initiatives and the National Radiology Data Registry.
Dr. Lee will participate in key activities in the department. He will spend one week in Washington, D.C, as ACR guidelines are drafted in the fall. He will attend the ACRs Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference (AMCLC) when the guidelines are debated and approved in late spring. Afterwards, Dr. Lee will also have the opportunity to submit an article on any topic of interest to the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR).
