Dr. Viñuela Received Awards & Recognitions in Uruguay

Dr. Fernando Viñuela received numerous awards and recognitions in Uruguay this summer. He was invited to a national convention on Acute Cerebral Stroke held in Sheraton Hotel in Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay, on August 18th, 2008. Before the beginning of the conference, there was a special ceremony involving the President of Uruguay (Dr. Tabare Vazquez) , the Mayor of Montevideo, and the Dean of School of Medicine of Montevideo. In this ceremony, Dr. Viñuela received the following awards and recognitions.

Presented by the Dean of University of Montevideo from the School of Medicine in Uruguay - Illustrious Citizenship of Montevideo
Presented by the Mayor of the city - Recognition of Scientific and Academic Career
Presented by the President Of Uruguay
This ceremony was followed by several scientific presentations on Acute Cerebral Stroke delivered by Dr Teresa Lin (interventional neuroradiologist from Montevieo), Dr. Pedro Lylylk (Interventional neuroradiologist from Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Dr. Viñuela.
On August 19th, Dr. Viñuela traveled to the capital city of the State of Soriano, Mercedes, where he was born and had practiced medicine for 4 years before coming to North America. That night in an open popular forum, Dr. Viñuela met old teachers and friends who he had not seen for more than 30 years. In that very friendly and emotional atmosphere, Dr. Viñuela received two more recognitions:
