Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) Treatment Program

Welcome by HHT Co-Directors: Dr. Justin McWilliams and Dr. Gary R. Duckwiler

As one of the top ranked health care centers in the United States, at UCLA we constantly strive to combine innovation and clinical care to offer patients the most advanced, patient-centered care in the world.

The HHT Center of Excellence at UCLA is a multidisciplinary practice which facilitates the comprehensive coordination of care necessary for treating patients with HHT. The coordinated team of experts at UCLA, knowledgeable about HHT, offers patient education and proactive management of the symptoms and complications of the disorder.

HHT is an autosomal dominant vascular disorder affecting approximately 1 in 5000 people. HHT gene mutations lead to abnormal vascular structures, ranging from dilated microvessels (telangiectasia) to large arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).

Because of the rarity of the disease, and the need for coordinated treatment among specialists of different organ systems, the HHT Foundation has established several Centers of Excellence for HHT treatment. The UCLA Center of Excellence for HHT includes physician team members from 10 different subspecialties, and offers coordinated, knowledgeable care for HHT, including the full array of counseling, screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Meet Our Team >
