NBC Nightly News aired a Nov. 28, 2008 segment by Robert Bazell on new imaging software that enables UCLA physicians to view patients brain aneurysms in 3-D and predict whether they are likely to rupture and require immediate treatment. UCLA is one of only two hospitals in the country with the technology. Dr. Gary Duckwiler, professor of radiological sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, explained the procedure. The story also aired on 16 other U.S. and Canadian NBC affiliates.
