Dr. Reena Patel was born and raised in Los Angeles and is proud to be working as a UCLA physician providing cardiovascular care to members of her community. Dr. Patel earned her bachelor’s degree from UCLA and her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at the Loma Linda University Medical Center. Dr. Patel is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease and additionally in adult Echocardiography and Cardiac CT.
Dr. Patel provides comprehensive general cardiology care for adults. This includes heart disease screening, diagnosis and management. She has a special interest in preventative medicine as she believes this is paramount to decreasing the epidemic of heart disease affecting health care around the world. She is actively involved with non-invasive cardiology testing for patients which includes stress tests and heart ultrasounds.
Dr. Patel has a strong research interest in women’s health. She holds a Master’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University in women’s health and is currently the Director of the South Bay UCLA Women’s Heart Health Program. Her research in heart valve disease has been published in various medical journals and this continues be a strong clinical interest of hers.
Dr. Patel has hospital privileges at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Little Company of Mary Hospital and UCLA.
On her off time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her husband and children exploring beautiful sunny Southern California and beyond.
