About

Dr. Sarhangian is a Board-Certified Pediatrician and a member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP). She completed medical school at the University of Arizona and her Pediatric Residency at UCLA. She joined the UCLA Pediatric Hospitalist Division in 2016 and her responsibilities included overseeing the treatment of inpatients with eating disorders in our Medical Stabilization Program at Santa Monica-UCLA Hospital. She now joins our Nourish for Life team providing outpatient as well as inpatient care to our patients.

Her specialized training in the treatment of eating disorders includes knowledge and expertise in Family-Based Therapy (FBT).

She has a comprehensive understanding of the medical, psychological, and social aspects of eating disorders as well as how they impact the lives of patients and their families. Her clinical interests include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant eating disorders, and ARFID. Her research interests include reducing hospital readmissions for patients with eating disorders.
