What to Bring for the Patient

What to Bring for the Patient

  • Street clothes are worn on the unit and all clothes should be comfortable and casual without drawstrings and laces.
  • Night clothes (pajamas and gowns).
  • Sturdy walking shoes or slippers with low heels and backs are to be worn when out of bed.
  • Please furnish individual toilet articles such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant in plastic and non-breakable containers.
  • Radios and clocks without cords are allowed on the unit.

We recommend that you do not bring items of value or any money over $15.00. A locked cabinet for toiletries is provided to you in your room. Nursing staff will unlock the cabinet when needed.

In order to ensure the safety and privacy of our patients we ask that you do not bring the following items onto the unit:

  • Prescription Drugs
  • Over the counter drugs
  • Alcohol
  • Illegal Drugs
  • Sewing Kits
  • Any Types of Weapon
  • Compacts (with glass mirror)
  • Scissors
  • Nail Clippers
  • Razor Blades
  • Cameras Laptop Computers
  • Lighters/Matches Aerosol Spray Cans 
  • Electric Appliances
  • Wire Coat Hangers
  • Knitting Needles 
  • Glass Items/Bottles
  • Sharp Items
  • Tweezers
  • Nail Files
