Minimum Containment Materials in Patient Care Areas:

  • Heavy gauge plastic sheeting (6 Mil or better)
  • Fire rated taping at all corners, seems, and connection points
  • Sticky Mats on inside & outside of barrier
  • HEPA filtration unit inside containment venting into building exhaust or directly outdoors

UCLA Facilities retains the rights to reclaim and reuse items such as exit signs, door hardware, and life safety items.

Fire Extinguishers:

  • Shall be mounted no less than 4 inches and no more than 60 inches off ground
  • Shall be inspected each month by a competent person and signed on back of tag
  • NFPA 10 Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers
