Dr. Lashin was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. She received her medical degree from one of the oldest Medical Schools in the Middle East, Cairo University, Kasr El Aini School of Medicine. Worked as a Faculty in Cairo University for 15 years and was promoted to Associate Professor in GI/Hepatology/Gastroenterology/Endemic and Tropical Medicine in 2007.
Learning and practicing Medicine in Africa and Middle East taught her how to achieve best results with limited resources which refined greatly her clinical skills. She was lucky to experience a lot of textbook cases in real life. Meanwhile she received her Masters science degree, PhD in GI/Hepatology/Endemic Medicine/Tropical Medicine and Interventional Endoscopy and Interventional Abdominal Ultrasound techniques in Cairo Egypt. Dr. Lashin has a great passion for teaching medical students and nurses. She received a Cambridge Diploma for Teachers and Trainers to potentiate her teaching skills. During her research path, Dr. Lashin had a special interest in ethics and received a special course to become a Certified Trainer in Ethics in International Medical Research from University of Maryland. Dr. Lashin completed her Residency in Internal Medicine in Sinai Grace Hospital/Wayne state University in Detroit, Michigan in 2014.
Dr. Lashin came to USA in 2005 as a post doctorate research fellow in a junior scientist exchange program to train on Stomach Ulcers and GI/Liver diseases in Baylor College, Houston Texas. She finished her USMLE exams and started her residency in 2011 in Sinai Grace hospital where she was exposed to an intensive medical experience, which added greatly to her medical knowledge of diverse and complicated medical conditions. Worked as a hospitalist for a year and felt her patients need to follow up with her, she moved to primary care to provide the needed continuity of care life long.
Became Board Certified in IM in 2014. Medicine for Dr. Lashin is her love and pride, she is very keen helping her patients to have a better life not just a better health and would go all the extra miles to do so. Photography, fashion, reading, cooking come all after medicine and her family.
