What is Connected Health?

Connected Health is a term that combines all of the facets from telemedicine, telehealth and mHealth into one term. This includes:

  • Live, two-way audiovisual interactions between you and your provider through video visits
  • The transmission of recorded health information to another provider for additional expertise and evaluation
  • Remote patient monitoring, which uses tools to transmit personal and medical data to your provider for monitoring

What Are UCLA Connected Health Video Visits?

Instead of driving to your doctor’s office for an exam, consultation or follow-up appointment, you can connect with your physician using app-based technologies on your tablet or smartphone. You can discuss symptoms or recovery, as well as diagnosis and treatment plans, without having to leave your home or workplace. In other words, it’s just like a regular appointment with your doctor, only more convenient. You also can consult with our UCLA board-certified specialists, including world-renowned surgeons, cardiologists and oncologists.
