Dr. Cader is a South Bay native and received his undergraduate degree from UCLA. Coming from a family of physicians, it was natural for him to pursue medicine, graduating from the UCLA-Drew Medical Education Program. He then pursued a Masters degree in Public Health, specializing in Epidemiology while teaching UCLA medical students. Dr. Cader went on to specialize in Internal Medicine at the UCLA/San Fernando Valley Program.
Dr. Lillian Chen was born in Boston, MA, and moved to Taiwan at the age of 10. She returned to the U.S. after high school and graduated with honors from UC Berkeley with a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and subsequently completed her residency training in internal medicine at UCLA as a member of the primary care track. She currently provides comprehensive primary care ranging from preventive health care to the management of chronic medical conditions and is particularly interested in women's health. She also serves as a Clinical Instructor at the David Geffen School of Medicine. In her free time she enjoys cooking, baking, and exploring new restaurants.
Dr. Jennifer Chew is a native of Sacramento, California. As a daughter of an Internist, she knew from an early age that primary care medicine was in her future. She attended UC Berkeley where she pursued her Bachelors of Science in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism and graduated with distinction of highest honors.
Dr. Gloria Kim grew up in Seoul, Korea before moving to sunny Southern California at age 9, not even knowing the alphabet. She learned quickly to adapt, but this experience also taught her at an early age that being different can still be positive. She learned about resilience and compassion, both acting as seeds that would blossom into her dream to become a physician.
Dr. Jamie Polito is a fourth generation Los Angelino and comes from a long line of “Dr. Polito’s” including her grandfather, father, uncles, and brother. She is a proud graduate of Immaculate Heart High School and Santa Clara University. She graduated in the top 10% of her class from Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado with a focus on Primary Care. After working in a small town in New Zealand for a year, Dr. Polito joined the UCLA team in 2009. She worked in a thriving practice on campus in Westwood for 7 years and transitioned to the UCLA Torrance office in 2016 in order to be closer to her new home in the South Bay.
Dr. Wang was born in Taiwan and immigrated to Southern California at the age of 11. After completing her BS in Biochemistry at UCLA and medical school at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University, now known as Drexel University School of Medicine, Dr. Wang returned to California and completed her residency at UC Irvine.
Dr. Virit D. Butani is Board Qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He completed his residency training at Medstar Washington Hospital Center/ Georgetown University Hospital in 2015 and then joined the University Podiatry Group at UCLA medical plaza. Dr. Butani is currently seeing patients at both the Westwood and Santa Monica offices. He is also a part-time Consulting Physician at the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center. His interests include adult and pediatric flatfoot reconstruction, arthroscopic procedures, sports related injuries, trauma and diabetic limb salvage. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Yijun Chen grew up in Hunan, China. He attended Fourth Military Medical School in Xi’an, China. He came to US to do cancer research. He did his postdoctoral training in cancer biology at Stanford University. Dr. Chen completed his surgical residency training at Stanford University, where he found his passion to become a bariatric and minimally invasive surgeon. After finishing his bariatric fellowship at Duke University, he joined UCLA Department of Surgery. He enjoys connecting with and developing partnerships with patients.
Grant Chu, MD, MSAOM is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine, Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He received his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Doctor of Medicine from Brown University and Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from South Baylo University. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA Medical Center and fellowship in General Internal Medicine at UCLA through the Center for East-West Medicine. Dr. Chu is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Chu practiced hospital medicine and received training in cancer care in Australia and was in private practice at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach prior to rejoining UCLA. He has held academic titles at the University of California, Irvine and the University of Queensland and has taught medical students and residents in both the US and Australia.
Dr. Huma Hasnain is a nephrologist who has an outpatient practice in Torrance. She also treats patients at Little Company of Mary Hospital and Torrance Memorial Hospital. She is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology, and is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation.
Dr. Kristofer J. Jones is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports-related musculoskeletal injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow. His clinical expertise includes advanced minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures and complex reconstruction of these joints. He has a specific interest in joint preservation procedures, including modern cartilage restoration and transplantation techniques. He is a select participant in a number of nationwide clinical research trials investigating novel surgical treatments for cartilage injuries.
Dr. Marian Kaldas is a rheumatologist who practices in Torrance. She treats patients with the full spectrum of rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, lupus and more than 100 other conditions. She is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
Dr. Houman Khakpour is a cardiologist who practices in Westwood and Torrance. He specializes in cardiac electrophysiology, and his clinical interests include cardiac catheter ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Rushi Parikh is an interventional cardiologist and advanced heart failure / heart transplantation specialist who practices in Torrance and performs procedures in Westwood and Santa Monica. He uses invasive evaluation and treatment methods to prevent and manage coronary artery disease, heart failure, and structural heart disease. Specifically, he performs coronary angiography, complex angioplasty/stenting, minimally invasive treatment of aortic valve disease (TAVR), and implantation of heart failure monitoring devices such as CardioMEMS.
Dr. Don Young Park is a Board Certified, fellowship trained Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon with a particular interest in minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal deformity, spine tumor, and spinal trauma. He was born and raised in Los Angeles. He is proud to be an alumnus of UCLA and now part of the faculty at UCLA.
Dr. Amir (Behi) Rabbani is a cardiologist who practices in Torrance. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He specializes in the management and prevention of heart disease with special emphasis on the catheter-based, minimally invasive treatment of complex coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial disease and valvular heart disease.
Lawrence Taw, MD, FACP, is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine, Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is board-certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine as well as in Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture, and Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
