The family and friends of Justin Thomas Low established a memorial fund to honor his life and to help support those in need at UCLA Health. The Justin Low Memorial Fund provides qualified Pediatric Heart Transplant families with housing, for up to three nights at UCLA Tiverton House, while they are at UCLA during post-operative recovery. The memorial fund also helped finance UCLA Tiverton House game room for patients, children and family members to enjoy while staying there.
Justin was born December 28, 1988 in Castro Valley, CA, he was born with a single ventricle, pulmonary atresia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He received several heart repairs at Children’s Hospital Oakland and later he received two heart transplants, both were preformed at UCLA.
Justin enjoyed every minute of his 15 years of life. He was a caring and loving person who adored animals, NASCAR, cycling, and cooking shows. Justin’s courage, inner strength, and kind heart were affections by everyone who encountered him and through this fund, the families that never met Justin will feel his compassion too.
Tiverton House is designed to offer convenient housing for UCLA Health patients and their families during times of medical emergencies or prolonged treatments. Tiverton House provides more than $200,000 annually in assistance to families. These funds make a world of difference to the many patients and their loved ones who need a place to stay.
You can make a difference and become part of a worldwide family of UCLA donors, helping to heal humankind, one patient at a time.
Please make checks payable to "UC Regents," noting in the memo line, JLMF #40940.
