Gary Foxen suffered from emphysema and was on oxygen 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In 1999, he was able to receive a lung transplant at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center from a deceased anonymous donor.
Gary was incredibly grateful for his gift of life. He knew the importance of educating the public about organ, eye and tissue donation and was the inspiration for the Donate Life Rose Parade Float.
Gary took every opportunity available to thank donor families for their unselfish gifts and he and his wife, Lois, volunteered countless hours as Donate Life Ambassadors in our community.
Prior to his passing in 2014, Gary made a monetary donation to ensure that donors are honored for their priceless gifts of life, health and hope by making this donor memorial possible.
