Fellowship in Multi-Organ Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery

We offer a dual fellowship in multi-organ transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery accredited by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS). This two-year program provides comprehensive experience in liver, kidney, pancreas and intestinal transplant and all aspects of hepatobiliary surgery.

There is no substitute for experience

UCLA is one of the foremost comprehensive transplant centers in the world and among the few national centers performing every type of transplantation in both children and adults.

Our unmatched experience of 6500 liver transplants to date – including 1000 pediatric cases - makes us a world-class leader and innovator in the field. Our fellowship will expose you to a diverse compliment of cases and provide you the opportunity to become proficient in both the surgical and medical management of transplant patients.

Research experience in both clinical and basic sciences is a core component of the program. Each fellow will have the opportunity to design and implement clinical research protocols and participate in on-going or new investigative projects.

Join our team

UCLA has two fellowship positions available for the incoming class of 2023. Candidates must have completed a general surgery residency program that meets the educational requirements for certification by the American Board of Surgery or equivalency. To apply, please visit the SF Match Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship section at sfmatch.org.

For additional information regarding the fellowship, please contact June C. Ramsay, Fellowship Coordinator.
