The UCLA Community Based Learning (CBL) Program partners with UCLA Health and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA to assist teens and young adults in underserved communities of Los Angeles with the transition from youth to adulthood and to continue their education and expose them to their potential for careers in healthcare.
The program works with community partners, including schools, religious institutions and community-based organizations, to provide youth-development activities, job training and educational services. In addition to services that include basic-skills remediation, tutoring and homework assistance, youth-leadership development and mentoring, CBL operates after-school and summer internship programs in UCLA’s hospitals and medical clinics.
