WHAT:
Millions of Americans turn to alternative and complementary therapies to meet their health needs, despite limited scientific proof of effectiveness. A unique UCLA conference will address the quest for scientific evidence in support of these treatments.
UCLA brings together leading national researchers -- both critics and proponents of nontraditional therapies -- to discuss whether unconventional medicine can be studied using conventional research tools. Speakers will also share novel research designs and methodologies and will highlight successes and failures of research in this area.
The event is presented by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at UCLA and the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine.
